What is Craft Taiwan?
It is a crafting platform with two main parts.
1. Providing gifts of Taiwanese design products and local made craft material, which can be redesigned by Filipino craft creators. In addition, it is also associated with a web map showing Taiwanese craft design brands.
2. The International Forum on Handicraft Industries Exchange between Taiwan and the Philippines.
Through this event, creators in Taiwan and the Philippines can better understand the creative inspirations of each country and local market, enhance cross-cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines.
We sincerely invite you to get a taste of the design of Taiwanese craftsmanship.
International Forum
A great product starts with a great story.
Craft Taiwan is planning a series of forums and performances to make more people can better understand the brand stories, providing a communication stage for both Influencers from Taiwan and the Philippines to share their point of views of handicraft industries, and through the cultural exchange, the local creative economy is supported.

Woven|Trish Lim Francia
PATRICIA CORAZON F. LIM-FRANCIA Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Woven Trish Francia is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Woven, a compassionate crafts company that works hand in hand with Filipino artisan communities. Apart from managing the social enterprise, she works as a consultant and mentor for NGOs, doing research and case studies on social enterprises, foundations, and academic institutions. Apart from Woven, she is a board member of a group of young local entrepreneurs called Roots Collective. She is also a consultant adjunct member of the faculty at Enderun Colleges, teaching social entrepreneurship to undergraduates.
Shangdrok|April Tang
April Tang is the co-founder of SHANGDROK, a workshop she founded with my Tibetan partner in a Tibetan village in 2015, hiring half a dozen local women producing hand-spun yarns and handmade felts.
Risque Design|Tal de Guzman
Tal de Guzman is the founder and designer of Risqué Designs, a footwear brand and manufacturing company that focuses on using Filipino materials, skills and inspirations. She works with woodcarvers and weavers from different communities to complement her shoe designs that are handmade by their in-house team of Marikina shoemakers. She is also the co-founder of Stride Collective, a community of more than 20 Shoepreneurs that have their shoe brands manufactured by Risqué, and aims to collaborate rather than compete.
Tal is a graduate of Art Management and took additional courses in Fashion Design and Entrepreneurship. She recently finished her Master's in Entrepreneurship Social Enterprise Development track at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. She is an advocate of local crafts and promotes ethical manufacturing and sourcing practices. She provides consultancy and design services for different MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) through government departments and NGOs. Tal also conducts regular trainings with artisan communities and teaches in various schools and studios.
Taiwan Craft School|Ming Hui Chen
Founder of Liv in Riverside, Founder of Taiwan Arts and Crafts School Nurturing Taiwanese craftsmen for more than ten years, using actual store openings to nurture countless new craft brands, and in 2017 began to hold the Taiwan Youth Craft Forum, develop craft seeds throughout Taiwan, and establish the Taiwan Arts and Crafts School, looking forward to one day Taiwan crafts from childhood one day taking root.
Junk Not Enterprise|Willie Garcia
Idr. Wilhelmina Willie S. Garcia is a green designer and licensed interior designer from Biñan, Laguna, Philippines. She is a graduate of Interior Design at St. Scholastica’s College, Manila and attended a social entrepreneurship program at Youth Encounter Sustainability (YES) held in Armenia, Colombia. She has been a member of PIID (Philippine Institute of Interior Design) since 2006.
In 2007, she won the interior design grand prize of Metro Bank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) National Competition because of her creative and tasteful use of old construction materials from demolished houses.
Motivated by her win, she worked towards making her green design practice sustainable. In 2009, she founded her interior design company Junk Not.
Willie’s work has been exhibited in the Philippines, Paris, Belgium, Germany, and Japan. She has been recognized and awarded by local and international organizations and government agencies. Amidst the accolades, her biggest joy remains in co-building with communities the reality of sustainable living and environment through Junk Nots eco-conscious and eco-conscientious practice and process.
Reeds to Empower Women|Shu-Hua Kang
Shu-Hua Kang is the founder of the Reeds to Empower Women and the Spring Sprouts Innovations for Social Services. She was a social worker and administrator in NPOs for over 20 years in Taipei, Taiwan working with varied disadvantaged groups. Shu-Hua received the Ministry of the Interior Award for excellence in combating sexual assault and family violence in 2012, and the 12th Compassion Award in 2017 for her dedication to social service from the HK & Macau Taiwanese Charity Fund Ltd. Shu-Hua holds an MSW from Columbia University and an MPPA from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a PhD candidate in the School of Social Work at McGill. The Reeds to Empower Women joined forces with Louisa Coffee to refashion coffee bean burlap bags into creative products, such as coffee cup carriers and all sorts of handicrafts. This innovative project creates job opportunities and increases social participation for women in local communities through reasonable pricing for broader distribution. It also serves as a platform to support sustainable development for local community organizations.
